Privacy Policy
HOPPD is a shopping decision-support app. This policy explains what the planned public iPhone app processes, what it does not collect, and the choices you control.
The short version
HOPPD does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics SDKs, data brokerage or cross-app tracking. Camera frames stay on your device, and the app does not request your location.
Camera
If you allow camera access, HOPPD uses Apple camera and vision frameworks to detect supported product barcodes. Camera frames are processed on the device and are not uploaded to or stored by HOPPD.
Store selection
The app does not request location access. You choose a supported Coles or Woolworths store by searching the HOPPD store directory.
The app sends the selected retailer, store identifier, and scanned barcode or search text to HOPPD to retrieve current product and same-store comparison evidence. No latitude or longitude is sent.
Product and network data
The app downloads HOPPD product catalogue data and product images. Matching and search use product names, identifiers, selected store and supported barcodes. Product-image hosts and network infrastructure may automatically receive ordinary connection information such as an IP address, user agent, request time and requested URL. HOPPD may process limited operational logs for security, abuse prevention and service reliability.
Data we do not collect
- No HOPPD account, profile, password, contact list, payment data or advertising identifier.
- No sale of personal information.
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking.
- No third-party advertising or behavioural analytics SDK.
- No server-side storage of camera photos, precise location history, saved-product lists, scan history or health information by the planned public app.
Retention, deletion and support messages
Saved products, scan history and the selected store are stored on your iPhone and can be cleared from the You tab. The planned public app has no account record to retain or delete. Operational logs, where present, are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security and reliability, then deleted or aggregated. If you email support, the message and contact details are retained only as needed to answer and maintain the support record. You may request deletion of a support conversation by emailing the address below.
Children
HOPPD is a general shopping tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support, contact us so it can be removed.
Independent service
HOPPD is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Coles or Woolworths. Retailer names, product images and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
